Ordinal Depth Meter

Ki · Reasoning

The Problem

The team's analysis went too deep into the meta aspects without calibrating the foundational requirements of the project.

The Operation

The model is directed to track current reasoning depth -- classify as surface observation, structural analysis, meta-reflection, or foundational questioning. Compare depth against problem complexity. If reasoning exceeds warranted depth, flag over-analysis and constrain to the appropriate level. Detect qualitative level shifts where analysis moves from what to why to framework audit. Verify that depth transitions are justified. The constraint: never allow reasoning depth to drift unchecked.

The Structure

The reasoning structure is a watchdog monitor that continuously observes the reasoning process for signs of degradation. The monitor runs continuously, checking for drift at each step.

If the depth of analysis is not adjusted to match the complexity of the question being asked, depth tracking was inactive.

Cross-Domain Suppression

In Haki mode, the API retrieves the primary ability first, then fans out to three synergy roles that compound its reasoning.

When retrieved in Haki mode, the primary ability is augmented with failure guards extracted from 3 abilities in different cognitive domains. Each guard blocks a specific reasoning failure the primary alone wouldn't catch. A self-check forces verification before output. The result is cross-domain coverage that no single ability can reach alone.
