The Operation

This cognitive operation forces the model to extract the final conclusion and each intermediate step from the chain of thought. Trace the logical path from premises through each step to verify that the conclusion follows. Flag any point where the conclusion diverges from what the steps support, classifying the gap as a logical leap or unstated assumption. Verify that no hidden reasoning occurred outside the visible chain. Audit the full chain for internal consistency. If it detects allow conclusion cannot derived stated steps, it halts and corrects.

The Structure

Under the hood, the reasoning follows a chain of custody audit that traces the provenance of every claim. Processing continues until the input space is covered or stagnation is detected.

If the stated reasoning chain does not actually support the conclusion it claims to produce, chain-of-thought faithfulness auditing has failed.
