Mechanism Detective

The Problem

The correlation between chocolate consumption and Nobel laureates is treated as a causal link without any mechanistic reasoning connecting the two.

The Operation

Under this ability, the model must identify the causal claim and extract the specific X-causes-Y relationship asserted. Demand the physical or logical mechanism by which X produces a change in Y, trace every intermediate step. Test each intermediate step for plausibility by checking whether the process is consistent with known domain constraints. Scan for confounds that could explain the X-Y correlation without a direct mechanism. Classify the claim as mechanistically validated, plausible but unconfirmed, or rejected. The constraint: never accept correlation as evidence of causation without a stated mechanism.

The Structure

Structurally, this is a chain of custody audit that traces the provenance of every claim. The procedure repeats until diminishing returns trigger an exit.

If a causal claim relies on co-occurrence without naming the physical or logical process connecting the variables, mechanism validation has failed.

Cross-Domain Suppression

In Haki mode, the API retrieves the primary ability first, then fans out to three synergy roles that compound its reasoning.

When retrieved in Haki mode, the primary ability is augmented with failure guards extracted from 3 abilities in different cognitive domains. Each guard blocks a specific reasoning failure the primary alone wouldn't catch. A self-check forces verification before output. The result is cross-domain coverage that no single ability can reach alone.
